Sweet Weege
aka Gibble, Little G, Lou E G, Giblet....
We lost Gibble on the 24th.
Lots of people are asking just what happened so I'm going to write the whole speil...heads up for those who hate to hear this stuff...
Thursday she barfed. No big deal. Dobes barf. K9 version of siamese really. She barfed water a few times that day so she didn't get any dinner. That night she couldn't get comfortable to sleep which was weird. Gibble was a sleeper. I gave her some Pepto then in the night a gravol which seemed to help a bit. Friday am she had some diar. so we brought her to GPH. There she was put on an IV and had blood taken. They were pretty busy so we took her home.
We hung out for the day just lounging then at about 3ish she started to pant. Within 10 minutes she was gone. She had like mini seizures while this was going on.
We kept her here for about 2 hours. I'd read that this helped the whole pack thing. Last year when Ray went to GPH for euth. the pack was outta sorts for almost a month. Bickering, re-establishing...it was weird. No one really checked out her body and while she was dying the all stayed quiet and didn't really move about. I'm sure it made a difference 'cause there was no mourning or anything weird.
We got her results back today. She had liver and kidney failure with septicemia. We don't know why or how. There was not a symptom to be seen until the Thursday morning and we're super interactive with them so it wasn't like rover who lives in the yard looked ok before he died...
Since then Tessa has nothing to do so she focus's on Penny and me. Penny has had enough as she likes to do her own thing (me too).
We brought home a 1.5 yr intact male this aft. and there is finally peace across the land. Tessa has something to do/follow/share with.
Gib will be sorley missed but we feel that if we have the means and capability to fit another one in, that's what we will do.

Thanks for posting this Les-what an unbelievably rapid progression form health to dying...at least she was in her comfort zone at home with you and the pack.
I love the pic you posted-to me it looks like "love is all around".
Where did you get the male from, and what's his name and his story?
So sorry to hear Les. I'm sure she knew how much you loved her... and that would have made her one happy doggie. You can't ask for more.
Rest in peace sweet puppy.
