Sober lesson for man: Don't drink and blow snow

BARRIE -- A man who decided to help clear the street with his own push snowblower ended up with a public intoxication ticket.

Police in Barrie say it was for the man's own protection, as he was too intoxicated to operate the machine and was almost hit twice by vehicles Tuesday evening.

Police arrested the 41-year-old man and held him until he was sober.

Sgt. Doug Henderson said he doesn't know if the man had an explanation for his actions.

A public intoxication ticket comes with a $55 fine.
